Communications Coordinator

NetFreedom Pioneers is seeking an experienced Communications Coordinator to join our organization. In this role, the Communications Coordinator will work closely with our leadership and program managers to develop and implement social media communications strategies.

WORK LOCATION

In Office (Marina del Rey, CA, USA) or Remote ( Adaptable to PST Time Zone)

CONTRACT

Full-time (Average 40 hours/week)

YOUR DAY TO DAY

Your obligations include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan and maintain consistent messaging and branding for NFP communications
  • Online Engagement: lead the content creation and digital engagement for NFP’s websites and social media channels, newsletter and campaign emails 
  • Coordinate ad creation and placement
  • Create rich and engaging content that helps tell the story of our work and our mission in creative and compelling ways
  • Events Support: Support organizing public virtual events, and other community outreach events. Sourcing and inviting guest speakers; support event logistics, promotion, registration, and analytics
  • Perform outreach to press outlets, magazines, influencers and build strategic partnerships to grow brand notoriety; creating and maintaining media lists.
  • Contact Management: Assist with management of e-mail lists, online forms, and other online communications and data management systems to maximize engagement of supporters and partners
  • Tracking and reporting analytics on websites, social media, marketing and communications campaigns

  • You are passionate about technology and digital rights
  • You have a good understanding of the digital rights context in the MENA region, and are part of and in touch with different networks in the region
  • You are an adaptable, and well-organized systematic thinker
  • You have excellent people and communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience in a communications or social media marketing role
  • Exceptional writing skills, a high level of creativity and the ability to think analytically
  • Experience working with distributed teams and across time zones
  • Previous experience working in nonprofit organizations is preferred
  • Knowledge in governance, civil society, media, technology, youth, or education development sectors preferred 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a positive attitude
  • Geographic expertise on the MENA region and proficiency in a Persian language is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite)

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

Work may be performed in the office in person, or remotely by prior arrangement
