Platform Developer, Gender and Technology (Contract)

NetFreedom Pioneers is seeking a visionary and organized individual to join our team as an Platform Developer for our Gender and Technology Program. In this role, you will work on an initiative to advance gender equality and rights through training teachers. Working closely with our global team of researchers, designers and other stakeholders, you will develop the digital platforms to support this initiative, including a website, e-learning course and advocacy platform. Launching in January 2023, the platform provides teachers with tools to address sexism in the curriculum via an e-learning course and advocacy platform.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

Your responsibilities include and are not limited to: 

  • Working in collaboration with stakeholders, define specifications for the initiative’s website, e-learning platform and advocacy platform
  • Build the initiative’s website based on the specifications
  • Build the advocacy platform based on the specifications
  • Configure the e-learning platform
  • Ensure smooth operation of the platform

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 2-4 years of developing digital platforms, ideally for social impact initiatives
  • Proven track record of teamwork at nonprofit organizations
  • Experience working in multicultural environments and teams, and strong cross-cultural communication skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple ongoing assignments
  • Ability to work independently and deliver tasks on deadline
  • Proficiency in one or more foreign languages (Persian preferred)

Nice to have

  • A fundraising and nonprofit industry background, preferably with an Internet Freedom or international development organization
  • Experience with social impact, technology, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation and/or knowledge management desired

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work may be performed in the office in person, or remotely by prior arrangement
